Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt   

This Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course is aimed at those new to Lean Six Sigma who have a role, interest, or need to develop foundational knowledge beyond Lean Six Sigma White Belt. By taking this competency-based Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course, you are confirming your commitment to your professional growth. This course will expose you to the concepts of data collection, descriptive statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, control charts, roots cause analysis, and measurement systems analysis to name a few. Compared to many other Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt courses, this course, coupled with the Lean Six Sigma White Belt course, provides a solid foundation of underlying principles required to understand more advanced Lean Six Sigma concepts.

This Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course consists of 3 hours of face-to-face instruction, divided equally between course orientation where you learn about the course resources, and meet the instructor, and an open-book 50-questions multiple-choice exam at the end. The rest of the course is delivered asynchronous (online) over six weeks. Each week assuming you’ve completed the Lean Six Sigma White Belt course successfully, you will be issued your Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate.

  • Normal Distribution
  • Hypothesis Testing Basics
  • Control Chart Basics
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Failure Mode and Effective Analysis (FMEA)
  • Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
  • Non-normal Distributions
  • Control (document, control plan, total productive maintenance)


Successful candidates are required to pass the final exam at the end of the course. A passing grade is 70% or better. Arrangements can be made for anyone who would like the entire course delivered online. Before taking this course, you should have successfully completed the Lean Six Sigma White Belt.
