Web Design Professional   

Are you a creative person? Do you envision an idea and then wish you could bring it to life? Web design may be the perfect field for you. With the race to take advantage of the limitless possibilities of the Web, there is a continuing demand for professionals skilled in designing, developing, and maintaining Web pages.

Every good business (or person) needs to present the best image to an audience. In the fast-paced world of web design, you can help companies and organizations present their best images using a mix of modern technology and the proper design principles. Using these tools, you may be the one to convey your client’s or employer’s message to the public.

Monroe Community College has combined digital media arts with modern Web development technologies. The digital media arts include Adobe Photoshop (for creating, editing, and preparing images to be used in Web Sites), Adobe Premier (used in creating captivating digital video content), and Adobe InDesign (for creating professional marketing material). In this program, you will learn the latest technology, philosophy, and proper tools rules to bring web creativity to life. You will also gain practical skills in the art of creating, planning and managing the development of a web project.

Courses to be taken:

Intro to Programming (12 Hours); HTML5 Applied Internet Technology (12 Hours); Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Essentials (12 Hours); Web Design Fundamentals (UX) (24 Hours); JavaScript Intro (20 Hours); JavaScript Advanced (20 Hours); WordPress Essentials (40 Hours); Adobe Photoshop Intro (12 Hours); Adobe Suite – Premier (12 Hours); Adobe Suite – Indesign (12 hours); Web Design Portfolio (32 Hours).

Prerequisites: The desire and ability to learn new technology. Ability to problem solve, and research online resources. Basic Window skills, word processing experience, computer file management basics and familiarity with Internet services such as e-mail and Web browsing.

You will need to be interviewed by one of our program manager to help you decide if this program best suits your needs, and objectives.
