Professional Productivity through Personal Kanban

People, tasks, responsibilities, deadlines, and even recreation all compete for our attention. The human brain however, simply does not respond well to the stress of juggling multiple priorities. Personal Kanban can help. Adaptable to all ages and situations, and accessible to all learning styles, Personal Kanban allows you to visualize the amount of work you have and organize and prioritize your work-in-progress. It's customization and flexible, requires only simple supplies, and is easy to set up, start and use. Participants are asked to bring to class their calendar, to-do lists, plans, etc. (whether paper or digital) to work with during the class. (All individuals work will be kept private).

Participants will leave with a draft Personal Kanban board created in class to implement what they've learned when they return to work:

  • Understand your personal capacity versus throughput (they are not the same).
  • Gather supplies and set up a Kanban Board
  • Understand your value stream of Backlog, Ready, Doing, and Done.
  • Start PK using six steps.
