It is very important for a project manager to balance the triple constraint – scope, schedule, and budget – while delivering a quality product, service, or result. This workshop covers basic project management skills. It examines processes required to ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully. You will learn how to plan scope, and control the scope by monitoring the status of the project and product scope and managing changes to the scope baseline.
In addition, you will learn about processes to establish policies, procedures, and documentation for planning, developing, managing, executing, and controlling the project schedule. You will learn how to define and sequence activities as well as estimate activity durations. Lastly, you will learn about the processes involved in planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, funding, managing and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.
This two-day workshop covers material from chapters one through seven of PMI’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide). It is also the first two days of our three-day course titled Fundamentals of Project Management, our four-day course titled Project Management Best Practices, and our five-day course titled Project Management Body of Knowledge Primer. If you have an interest in acquiring a more in-depth knowledge of project management, you might considering enrolling in one of these courses.
