The contract between the New York State DMV and the curriculum provider, The Motorcycle Safety Foundation, has been signed. Learn to Ride Basic RiderCourse will resume operations on Saturday, May 3, 2025. If you have a class scheduled with Learn to Ride, you will receive an email update.

The Basic RiderCourse Beginner class is an entry-level program designed for individuals with little to no motorcycle experience. It combines prerequisite online learning with a comprehensive two-day hands-on training course to equip students with the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for safe and responsible motorcycle operation. Important Registration / Payment Information

Sign up for the course you can attend. There is no switching from one course to another.
Once you begin to register, you must complete the transaction within 10 minutes.
Do not hit the 'back' button while registering.
We accept MASTERCARD, VISA and DISCOVER for payment.
You may buy only 1 seat per course in your name. To register an additional person in the course, you must submit a separate registration using that person's name and email address.
If you are submitting multiple registrations using the same credit card, wait at least 20 minutes between transactions (or your credit card company may think your card is being used fraudulently).
As soon as you successfully complete the payment process and submit your registration, your credit card is charged.

There is a mandatory online eCourse prequisite for this class. You will recieve your eCourse link by email 30 days prior to your road course. It is valid for 30 days.
